Long Island native studied finance at Baruch College, worked as administrator for online real estate platform
Sarasota, Fla. (October 3, 2022) – Brian Pedersen joins SVN Commercial Advisory Group as an Associate Advisor. Pedersen comes to the commercial real estate firm’s Tampa office from Better.com. He served there as a Senior Associate on the corporate strategy team overseeing the online mortgage company’s various programs and initiatives.
“While I was there, I worked side by side with agents and brokerages and acquired a wealth of knowledge about real estate law and practice,” he said. “That knowledge, combined with the fact I’m an entrepreneur at heart, led me to the SVN team.”
Other factors that drew Pedersen to SVN Commercial Advisory Group were the variety of operating and marketing tools, the network of connections and the group’s reputation in the area.
“SVN fosters a culture of teamwork. Also, the group is very well known in Tampa and Sarasota, two areas I love and wanted to focus on. They’ve really done a great job setting up their team members, including me, for success.”
Pedersen’s prescription for ongoing success in commercial real estate includes optimism and a slate of scheduled activities.
“A positive mental attitude is huge,” he said. “It helps you get through the ebbs and flows of the days and weeks. My routine is also important. I’ll spend a few hours in the morning conducting industry and market research so I can provide the best insights to my clients.”
Senior Advisor Sid Bhatt, CCIM, SIOR, works closely with Pedersen to help him acclimate to his work with the group. It’s part of the internal networking and team-building process at SVN Commercial Advisory Group.
“Brian and I plan our strategy each week to discuss market trends and to secure appointments to sell, lease and list properties,” Bhatt said. “It’s all in an effort to better serve our clients and grow our SVN team. It’s definitely time well spent.”
A native of Long Island, NY, Pedersen graduated from Baruch College with a bachelor of arts degree in finance. In April 2021, he moved to Florida, where he has family. “I love living in Florida,” he said. “There’s no place I’d rather live and build my career.”
